Important message from the Icelandic police: Weather forecast from the Meteorological Office:
REYKJAVÍK:
Please note that an orange condition is on in the greater Reykjavík area, and it looks like the forecast is accurate. It is likely that there will be more wind than had been forecast. The weather is expected to peak from 17:00 until 21:00 tonight.
People are asked to stay indoors and not to travel unless explicitly necessary. Hopefully everybody has been able to clear any outdoor loose items from their surroundings as there is a significant risk of damage due to the high winds.
WESTFJORDS
